mandell doesnt really answer the question in the article...

other discussion revolves around lsu...

My reaction to the latest polls and standings:

Overrated: LSU (AP: No. 9; coaches: No. 7)

Two games in, the Tigers have provided little indication of their anticipated return to heavyweight status. Last week the defense raised suspicion after allowing 478 yards to Washington. This week the offense was highly unimpressive against Vanderbilt, which trailed just 16-9 midway through the fourth quarter. LSU may be 2-0, but it has yet to look like a top 10 team.

Underrated: Houston (AP: No. 21; coaches: unranked)

You would think going on the road and knocking off a top five team (Oklahoma State) would have earned a bigger bump for Case Keenum and the Cougars, but because Houston doesn't yet have the track record of a Boise State or TCU, the voters apparently remain skeptical. There's no justifiable reason, however, why the Cougars remain five to nine spots lower than the team they just beat.

no, obviously ohio st is the school that was right for him. both schools will be fine now and in the future. people are overreacting, pryor is only starting his second game of his sophomore year. give him time, hell be fine, even vince young took time to turn into a a good college QB

LSU is just experiencing the same shite they did last year. Where an early creampuff schedule allows them to, by default, jump in the polls due to other teams losing. I believe they got as high as 2nd last year and proceded to get facefricked by Florida on national TV.

Pryor fricked up that game...not the coaches IMO

So Pryor may have made the wrong choice to win college games, but IMO there aren't many better places to go if you want to in the league

i dont understand why it was taking so long for tressel to get the play into pryor. each down it seemed, they almost had a DoG penalty.

and also, it was strangely ironic, that tressel would take all that time in making a decision and then call, "HB off tackle."

no shite. Is it amazingly difficult? no. but neither was a home game against a non-BCS schools or directional powerhouse.

Five days after its shootout with Miami, Florida State came within 35 seconds of losing to Jacksonville State. The Seminoles trailed 9-7 nearly the entire second half before putting together a 57-yard scoring drive to avoid defeat. Perhaps FSU officials ought to stop fighting so hard to save Bobby Bowden's vacated wins and start figuring out a way to get out of that $5 million Jimbo Fisher contract.

Pryor didn't look good by any stretch of the imagination.

Everybody knew Pryor while an immensely talented athlete was a very raw QB. This off season when Tressel had to hire a new QB coach he hired Nick Siciliano. Never heard of him ? Not a surprise he's never coached a QB at a division 1 college in his live. So Tressel doesn't develop a system to take advantages of Pryor's strengths and gives him no help in developing better mechanics.

All the blame from Saturday nights game fall at the feet of Jim Tressel.
