quote:Yeah, tons of times.
Did Jordan ever not get finals MVP?
quote:Wtf?
Did Lebron play for a team who retired Jordan's number?
quote:Ok you're drunk.
Did Lebron ever grow a pair and win a dunk contest? Was Jordan ever going to " be the next Jordan? "

Did Jordan ever lose in a final? Did Jordan ever not get finals MVP? Does Jordan hold the record for all time playoff scoring? Does Jordan have one more MVP than Lebron? Does Jordan have 9 more scoring titles? Did Lebron play for a team who retired Jordan's number? Did Lebron ever grow a pair and win a dunk contest? Was Jordan ever going to " be the next Jordan? " Not sure if all really happened or if should disregard and take MSB advice and praise LeGoat.

And I really do like LeBronze and I want him to win his 3rd title.

2 Seasons - Did Not Make Playoffs
0 Seasons - Lost in 1st Round
3 Seasons - Lost in Conference Semifinals
1 Season - Lost in Conference Finals
3 Seasons - Lost in NBA Finals
2 Seasons - Won NBA Title
1 Season - TBD, Made NBA finals
2 NBA Finals MVP Awards
4 NBA MVP Awards
Similarities --
- When they entered the league, neither had success leading a team anywhere. Jordan couldn't get out of the first round for 3 years; Lebron couldn't make it to the playoffs for 2.
- Both of them won a title in the 7th trip to the playoffs (this was in MJ's 7th season, Lebron's 9th)
- Both of them have won their conference 6 times.
Differences --
- After MJ's first finals appearance, he went to the NBA finals 5 out of his next 6 seasons. After Lebron's first finals appearance, it took 4 years to get back and 5 years to win it.
- Lebron has taken a team to 5 straight finals appearances. MJ never did more than 3 in a row, despite some claiming that is a technicality (YES, MJ took the Bulls to 6 straight finals appearances across 6 full seasons of play, but he did return and go to the conference semis in 1995).
- MJ never lost an NBA Finals appearance. Lebron has lost 3.
- If you look at full seasons, MJ is 6-9 in terms of winning championships vs not winning championships. Lebron is 2-9, and will either be 3-9 or 2-10 after this season. In other words, Lebron has already had as many seasons of "failure" as MJ had in his career, despite only playing 3 years more.
I know there are other similarities and differences; but these are all of the key pieces of info as it relates to the Lebron vs MJ battle being waged in reference to their playoff successes.

quote:And? He tried to make the playoffs, finals, and finals MVP every year. Dude asked if he ever DIDN'T win finals MVP. Well frick, he was so bad he got beat in the first round a couple times. So obviously there are years he didn't win finals MVP. Why the hell do y'all only count years he made the finals? How does that make sense to you?
well, i'm almost certain the poster blitzed was talking about the finals that Jordan actually played in.

So Lebron is still on pace to match Jordan in titles. He could win or lose this year and win 2 more next year and the year after.

TLDR; MJ had the best supporting casts in NBA history; while Lebron has had some of the worst (especially this year)

I think the bigger question is if Jordan goes 8 for 8 if he doesn't take the break in between the 2 3 peats.
I think a potential Bulls vs. Rockets Finals those 2 years would've been pretty awesome.

I think most of the guys that think LBJ is the GOAT never saw MJ play in his prime, or at least weren't old enough to appreciate it.
I am not a Lebron hater at all and love his game and he is likely the best ever athlete in the NBA. But MJ was just on another level with his will and determination. They are also 2 different players. The only other guy with near MJ level competitiveness is Kobe.
