Not all of us are money grubbing whores. He valued the experience more than the money.

You could have flown anywhere on DL for life, though.

Guy gave the ball back for nothing...
Steinbrenner's in turn gave him:
Got suite tickets for tomorrow's game, champions club tickets for the remainder of the season and some signed bats, jerseys, and balls.

Wouldn't it be something if Jeter got a triple... thus completing the cycle?
That ever been done before? Cycle on the day a player hits for 3,000?

You are whats wrong with the world. frickING GREED!!!! MONEY has NOTHNG to do with the JETER part of this. Now the dude could have held ransom on the Ball. But chose to do what HE thought was right. He said Jeter earned it and desrved the ball. I se NOTHING wrong with it.

How much you think he could have got for the ball?

And I see nothing wrong with the guy cashing in on his experience of catching an important baseball. Quit being high and mighty peeej

There's a kid in Texas that would pay anything to enjoy another baseball game with his family like this guy who caught the ball.
Just saying...

Again, I don't see anything wrong with him selling it. Just that some people value the experience more than the money.

That money isn't everything to some people. The interview with the guy who caught the ball he basically said he enjoyed the experience.

I would have given it back for lifetime tickets plus a few autographed things and a chance to be on field during old timers game so I can get autographs....
