“All Players OPTING out in all sports PLEASE BELIEVE the game will go on without u,” Sanders said on Twitter. “This is a business & don’t u EVER forget that. There’s NO ONE that’s bigger than the game itself. Only the ref, umps & officials are that important that u can’t play without them. NOT YOU! #Truth.”

Coming from one of the biggest attention whores of all time, that's a weird statement for him to make.

How's his Prime Prep doing too? Helping out all those young athletes still? Or that reality show he had?

I like Deion, and of course he’s right, but is there anyone out there suggesting otherwise? Seems like a straw man.

I’m assuming this is directed at professional athletes and not college athletes? If so, 100% agree.

There have been ref shortages in recent years. No one wants to be a referee, there’s just not a whole lot of younger officials out there.

Definitely no shortage of young football players though

It’s a lot harder to find a WR that runs a 4.2 than it is to find someone who is willing to ref an NFL game for sub par pay

A 4.2 wr yeah but not a 4.6 one. You know like Jarvis Landry,Jerry Rice and many, many other wrs. Bad argument. Stars are replaced all the time by teams. It easier to find qualified football players than qualified refs.

Seems like the owners forgot that it’s a business and joined the woke club.

If this were true, players wouldn’t be making millions of dollars and front offices wouldn’t need to staff teams of scouts.

Literally no receiver in the history of the NFL has run a 4.2 flat, so nice shitty argument there. His point is that superstars come and go every year in the NFL and it hasn’t hurt the league at all, so a bunch of rank and file guys staying home will do frick all to stop the league.

You’re not more important or valuable or interesting because you let the communist version of the flu turn you into a snowflake.

You and your consistently idiotic takes on things.

Has any player sitting out come out and said anything remotely close to this?

Remember the referee strike from a few years back? Didn’t take the NFL long before they caved after the refs fricked up a game. Big difference when a player blows a game vs a ref blowing a game.

Good officials are harder to find compared to players. Think we bitch about the refs now?! Imagine the 2nd tier group.

It’s depressing to witness this level of delusion.
