SIAP

quote:

Judge Richard M. Berman turned Roger Goodell’s desk over and spilled its embarrassingly sparse contents onto the floor. Goodell’s imperious conduct, faulty reasoning and vanity-driven clutching at authority in the Tom Brady case were all exposed in a 40-page decision of measured legal language. Lesson to first-year law students: Collective bargaining agreements don’t give an NFL commissioner the right to act like a petty prince.

Goodell pushed a bad case purely out of hubris and overconfidence, sure of finding a friendly federal judge to cooperate with his power-consolidating agenda. But the days of preferential treatment are over for the NFL — and for Goodell personally. One byproduct of the Brady decision will be a dawning awareness by NFL owners that they need a more worldly and less entitled man to run the league office at 345 Park Avenue, to replace the hermetically sealed-in arrogance of Goodell’s reign.

Unfit? I think his main job is to make the owners money, I think he's done that ten fold.

Fwiw, Berman is also just sitting on multiple other offenses to reject the suspension and basically listed them out on page 40.

You could put a monkey in office and make the owners money. It's a money making machine, he's done a lot of damage to the brand

Correlation/ causation and all that.

a rock could have done the exact same. A literal rock.

his predecessor set the machine in motion. If anything, he has hurt the brand.

A fricking parrot would be able to put the league in a better position than it is now. Everyone knows players (like the one he got crushed by yesterday) make the league so valuable.

Goodell and his clown posse are the most incompetent frickS in big business. It's like they are trying to make the NFL owners lose money

I hope the players shove it up their arse the next CBA go round. At least they have the court of public opinion in the corner at the moment. If goodell keeps dicking everything up until 2020, there might be some tangible damage to the brand. But who knows

I am so goddamn tired of hearing this stupid fricking talking point. He is the worst commissioner in NFL history - The league is succeeding financially because of 20 different factors: exactly none of which have anything to do with Goodell.

u really think this shite wasnt planned out?

Roger and Kraft are thick as thieves. He got called out after spygate for destroying tapes and not punishing his buddy kraft and the pats more.

So he has to take a hard stance this time, and shockingly, he over reaches, knowing that in the bylaws, via NFLPA, the only punishment is a fine.

So this plays out like roger vs pats, while rog and kraft enjoy a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue and laugh at the teams the Pats have got over, with their cheating arse ways.

Yes Kraft and Goodell are celebrating over the patriots losing a first round draft pick. Great plan of theirs
