I10 from Lake Charles to Baton Rouge is one of the most dangerous stretches of road in the country. Near the Basin is especially bad. All of the new construction going on just past Lafayette, too. It is terrible.

We had similar issues with the I-12 lane expansion in BR.

I work for a trucking company in operations, and I would say that roughly 80% of the drivers on the road today have no clue what they are doing.
The trucking industry is suffering greatly from a good generation of drivers retiring, and there not being good candidates to replace them, and when there are jobs that are easy to obtain, and it doesnt take much to get them, the wrong type of people gravitate towards them.
Whenever I talk about my job to people, I always tell them to be extra alert if they are around these trucks nowadays.
