Don’t forget Brantley!

Orbit also out indefinitely battling some sexual harassment issues

Idk if you want to include Yordan, but he still has the sore wrist, even though he probably shouldn't miss any time.

Special assistant to the GM Jeff Bagwell will solve all of these minor issues.

I must say it is nice to not really be concerned about long term with any player or its effect on team goals, regardless of the inconvenience
Of course, this could change

All of this stuff is why I was so disappointed in our offseason. I realize the injury bug bites everyone at some point and there is no way to replace everybody. But there just seems to be lack of foresight and too much dependence on nailing the replacements with our farm system by the front office. Of course, this tends to happen when you wait three months to hire a GM.
The pitching was bound to regress at least slightly even if JV returned. It’s hard to sustain that level of excellence in back to back years. Then JV walks, “IL”MJ is hurt as usual and all of a sudden, depth is an issue as well.
Abreu was a nice get, but the Brantley thing is bothersome and they HAD to know he wasn’t going to be ready. If their thinking was we got along fine last year without him, it tells me they’re expecting the pitching to be status quo and by definition, it isn’t. And how could they not know Yed’s hand was going to continue to be an issue? Was no one monitoring this during the off-season? Things like what happened with Altuve are freak things with no way to predict. I get it, we just have to trudge on with that one. But Brantley and Yed have known issues and we did seemingly nothing for contingency.
Yes I know I’m a miserable bastard. I just want the train to keep rolling while the window is still open.

Hensley is really seizing the day since Altuve went down...
0-6 with 4 strikeouts and a GIDP
You like Dubon? This is how you get Dubon.

Well, what you're not taking into account is that we rest starters to prevent these injuries
Just imagine if they had to play full seasons
They are already "injured" 20% of every season, because we don't reside in a division that requires them to play every game
So, in short, it's business as usual

His overall Spring numbers have been fine
Have to hope this is just a small stretch for him, but we have been fortunate with some young talent across the board, it may not be in the cards for him
Yuli will beat us in so many ways this year, it won't be funny for long

Meanwhile Dirden roped another double today. He's likely to make the club with Brantley shelved to start the season. He's 8-24 (.364) with 3 doubles, 2HR, 3 RBI and 4 walks. The strikeout rate is high though at 31%. 8 strikeouts in 26 plate appearances.

Which reminds me that Chas is in a very good spot to really establish himself this year
I think he will have to show an ability to turn on inside pitches enough to keep teams honest.
They have to be on to him ambushing outside strikes. He has an uncanny ability to let the ball travel

Seems he may be another launch angle change guy. Looking to tap into his natural power. Let's hope it works out.

He just struck out again.
0-7 with 5K
To be fair, he is showing he can duplicate Altuves playoff production

Shane, my dear old friend, two games is all FODB needs to see to install Morris Duboìs as starter.
Hensley hitting anything less than .500 will be indicative of an over matched rookie who needs more time on the bench to prove he can hit ML pitching.

We all know how he performs is irrelevant to how much he will play
