God fricking damnit Joe. This season can’t end soon enough. How do you get to bed knowing you let their best guy beat you when you had a base. It’s fricking inexcusable

Espada chooses to pitch to the AL Homerun leader with a base open. Loser.

Man, 2 gopher balls served up by Abreu

There is ZERO defense of that. None. Maybe Abreu was supposed to throw it a foot out of the zone. Doesn't matter. Put the dude on base.

I was not expecting anything over the plate, but Abreu has not had control in some time
He’s put in some good innings after the ASB, but his days as best reliever for the money are behind him

It doesn’t even make sense to give BA an opportunity to miss out of the zone.
Joe Espada just decided he’d rather pitch to a top 5 hitter in the game instead of facing Liam fricking Hicks or Victor Mesa Jr.
Mind numbingly stupid.
But it doesn’t matter. Shouldn’t have been in that spot bottom of the lineup turned itself over with RISP twice for the top to go GIDP and backwards K. Frustrating to waste that pitching performance

At least the FTRs are getting their asses whipped.

I will throw a Project X type party when Espada is finally gone. He is fricking brainless.

I still can’t get over Espada’s decision to pitch to Caminero in that situation. And his response to that question infuriates me.
You have a guy coming to the plate that is basically the opponent’s version of Yordan Alvarez. There are 4 reasons you don’t pitch to him.
1) He’s their best hitter.
2) walking him sets up a double play
3) his run means nothing.
4) If you walk him he can’t get an rbi and he can’t hit a homer, therefore you’re giving Yordan a chance at the triple crown. If he loses it by 1 homer or 1 rbi you can blame Espada.
He’s the worst manager in a while and it’s not even close.

Two games above .500, three games up in the division, and 14 games left. Just a damn shame at the amount of losses the team has that didn’t necessarily have to be.
