I remember a month or 2 ago Blum was saying when he played with the White Sox the grounds crew chief would always ask him if he wanted the grass and dirt more wet, dry, higher, lower, etc so it would be just like he wanted it as a 3rd baseman. I got the impression that teams could do whatever they wanted
