Can sign him on 8/30 then, not really an issue. Regardless it’s a low risk high reward move. If he’s bad you just leave him off the playoff roster. Not my money though

I saw a report today Conforto is still looking to sign in September.

Serious question. What's the point? Dusty won't play him. You gotta run what you brung man. Can't have Johnny Newboots strolling into the clubhouse in September and taking playing time from guys who have been here all year.

LH bat off the bench. You know Dusty won't start him ever.

Makes it easier to build a case against him then. I think it’s obvious the front office is going to do what they think they can to improve the roster

Conforto would make a good day game after night game LF.

For real though it would make a ton of sense. Send Jake down and let him start getting right for next season. If it doesn't work out, nbd.

Click is going to have to leverage the roster again to get a reign on Dusty. He's going to have to DFA Dilbert Dubois. Guy has done nothing for us.

You can already anticipate the "3 run home run 6 hole guy" logic that he's going to contort to keep Mancini on the bench. "He's my pinch hit guy. It's nice to have the depth to have a Trip Mancuso come off the bench. You saw him the other night deliver a pinch hit but then he went 0-4 when he started."

He’s not leaving unless Detroit or some other club offers him a president of baseball ops role or some other type of promotion. There are only 30 GM jobs. I could see Baker not being renewed because his contract is up. That is, unless they win the World Series.

Wonder if lateral moves are blocked by MLB and that any move would have to involve a promotion.

Dubon is probably comparable to the 26th guy on other contenders but Dusty treats him like an every day player. If they have to get rid of him to fix it then so be it

Dubon is partially Click’s fault because he acquired him. But he probably had no idea Baker would turn him into an regular starting player. I’d say that happened out of necessity, but there’s no way Dubon should be a regular even with Brantley out since June. We have other people who can play the outfield and one of them could play CF.

Dubon was a cheap fix to the Goodrum mistake, but he should pretty much never start.

And he wouldn’t on any other club. No way to anticipate another person’s stupidity. But here we are.

Pouring one out for Dr. Smooth. Was all but certain but to see it confirmed has me a little down. This lineup misses his consistent approach badly.

This goes back to click trading straw last year. It burned Dusty's arse. This is his F U back. He doesn't care about anything but himself. No mystery why he's failed to win a WS despite having many many talented teams. He's dogshit.

If they knew Brantley was having surgery then why trade Siri, or at least get a left handed bat before the deadline. Trade deadline was botched badly.

Because we always had dubon in our back pocket.

True. Should have traded for someone who can play LF.

Wait...

Now we're stuck without a legitimate left fielder, and left handed bat. Do you want to go into the playoffs with utility infielders, Yed, McCormick, and Myers platooning in CF and LF? You can forget Mancini making any meaningful contribution. That dye has been cast by the idiot FODB.
