Pressly back today. Mushy sent to SugarLand with a heartfelt"TYFYS" for his 8th inning yesterday.

Korey Lee is babysitting his namesake since he has no chance at actually playing baseball.

We may as well acquire another Castro level useless backup catcher and send Korey Lee back to the minors. playing 4 games a month doesn't do anything for him or us. He needs to be playing. He's gotten 15 at bats in July.

Yeah this was my concern when we called him up

It’s hilarious to me how we rest everyone except the most taxing position on the field

Maybe the Idiot is trying to break Maldy so we have to upgrade. It's 4D interdimensional checkers.

Dusty Baker said Yordan Alvarez's hand is sore and the team is just being cautious. He was unsure if Alvarez will be available off the bench today.

Soo it's not just an off day. This frickikg hand issue is going to linger all season. He had 10 days off, played 3 games and dealing with soreness again.

Sounds more serious than they are leading on.

Astros need to be playing for home field in ALCS. He’s needed

He should have just had surgery to fix whatever the problem is back when it started. Now this shite will linger.

Just needs a hit or two of world cup spray before each game.

One can give a stiff middle finger and a hearty “frick off, Dusty Baker” for so long before it starts to create carpal tunnel issues.

I’m afraid this issue will linger until Dusty is gone.

frick, I’ve had to endure double hamate bone removals in the last 6 months and I don’t even have to be in the same dugout with the MFer.

Well, we don't really know what it is except that it seems to be soft tissue related. Maybe.

That’s the point. The great veil of mystery that the Astros hold up with all “injuries” has caused me to not believe anything they say, whether positive or negative.

Now I'm even more sure we need Josh Bell.

If the Red Sox end up tanking over the next few weeks, JD Martinez would be interesting. But he has zero positional flexibility. He hasn't played the field at all this year. If you compare their stats. Bell and Martinez are very very similar statically. JD has more of a track record of being a proven hitter but bell is cheaper and can at least play a position.

Yeah I’d only want Martinez if the worst happens with Yordan, so hopefully not. Boston is pretty thin on rental types that fit us otherwise. Bogaerts will be a major wild card for other teams - gotta think they will at least consider it if they don’t turn it around here.

I said it in the thread last night but Strahm interests me as a lefty reliever on Boston

A potential rental who be a great add that no one is mentioning: Christian Vázquez.

Chafin on Detroit is kind of the Bell equivalent of lefty relievers for me, the best rental option performance wise who plugs neatly into that hole. Both will probably be pretty in demand among the rental options (though every team can use another good lefty reliever, first base is a different story)

Yep Vasquez is another. Would be neat for us to get him so Dusty can just not play him, I’d love that

That would actually get Dusty fired.

Now I really want Vázquez.
