I watched everyone wants some last night, I cracked up at the line after the dude bangs some chick and says "I feel like the Astros are gonna make it to the World Series."

Jon Morosi?
Sources: #Astros doing background work on Jeff Samardzija as trade candidate. He has thrown 6+ IP in 15 of 18 starts for #SFGiants. @MLB

There's Ryno's Fiers and Gomez desperation trade. No Jeff. Just no.

One name I hear again and again from scouts of selling teams: RHP Forrest Whitley. Astros have an absolute gem. Very unlikely to be traded.

Might as well go down the Verlander path if Shark is on the radar.

If Detroit is getting the salaries of (perhaps) Morton, Sipp and Singleton back as part of a deal, it's not impossible.

Plus, you only do it if you get Wilson as well. If you consider them at their combine salaries, a Verlander/Wilson combo trade is far more palatable.

Look at his career numbers and tell me he's not a really expensive Collin McHugh. Pass.

Having a pretty bad year + $20M per through 2020.

Okay not both counts...

But his xFIP is 3.09 and his K/BB ratio is the best in baseball. Dude is having a really good year on a bad team.

That said, his contract...

Yeah, I don't want him. Same reason I didn't want Q. Say no to flyball pitchers.
