I was thinking about all of the guys that kept coming up and down from AAA last year...and none really ever stuck. With the free agency signings and such, there's just no room on the roster for any of them. Weird how that was just last year, and my how far this team has come in a year.

An added benefit of all this winning, the bullpen has gotten a much needed break.
I think I read that in the last 11 games the following have appeared:
Giles 4 games
Harris 5 Games
Devo 4 Games
Going to be good to have some fresher arms later in the season

Tucker talk: With Aoki and Beltran on one year deals, that's already 2 open OF spots for next year. I anticipate YungTuck being up by next year, but probably not opening day. He is not going anywhere except the HoF in an Astros uni.

If He's still with the Astros next year, I can see them signing a stop gap OF and he'll be up around mid-late June 2018, similar to Carlito

There have been some great suggestions in the thread already. I'll add Justin Wilson from Detroit.
Something I think Luhnow may look for is a deal to swap Sipp while still paying his salary to get a more reliable lefty. The team that takes Sipp can use him to try to get him right (and then maybe trade him later).

The Astros have won six more games in a row than the number of hookers Craig James killed. Really makes you think.

Makes sense when you look at the division... no one else is even at .500 currently.
In fact, of every team in the AL with a .500 record or better, the Astros have played at least one series with all of them but Boston.

Also lots of teams we are going to play have losing records because we've already beaten the shite out of them
Posted on 6/6/17 at 1:03 pm to LSUBoo
And, as many said in the comments, they don't have to play themselves.

The Astros have a pretty favorable interleague schedule as well.
Washington is obviously really good as is Arizona, but the rest of the NL East is bad. Braves (two more)/Phillies/Mets still to go.

If the Astros did have to play themselves, who would win?

Whichever split squad got to pick first.

that does beg the question, if you had a fantasy draft of only astros players, with one starter from each position, one starting pitcher and 3 relief pitchers, who would you pick first...Keuchel?

Sipp has hardly been used in leverage spots already this year. Guduan looked really good but I'm still nervous about his tendency to completely lose control on occasion. But Sipp's days appear to be numbered.
Agree. Agree with all of this. They have more confidence with Guduan right now. He's got way better stuff obviously. If he can get more consistency hitting the strike zone, he can be real good for us.

Apparently we are scouting Tropicana field this week
Article focuses on Gray and Quintana but doesnt mention the opposing pitcher in the Rays WS matchup tonight....Archer.

Tampa probably isn't going to deal Archer this season. They won't get the kind of haul that his ability and contract demands, so I'd guess that's why he isn't mentioned.
