In Dusty's mind, he's only burning 1 bench player by pinch-hitting with Castro. But he also think it's 1978 in the National League. Never mind the pitcher doesn't bat any more and that it doesn't really matter if you burn 2 bench players by getting Maldonado out of the game.
Castro should only come into the game AFTER you've used SOMEONE ELSE to pinch-hit for Maldonado.
