Archer will cost the most, that's the issue.
Cole has been strong in the playoffs, including versus the Cubs. I have faith he can give you 6 strong innings, which is all you need.

Archers contract is incredible too, controlled through 2021 at a max of like 6 mil a year. he would cost A LOT

I think you're giving up two of our top pitching prospects plus Tucker to get Archer vs maybe one for Cole. Archer should cost more than Cole because of the contract.

I think Luhnow was pretty vocal about waiting until the deadline based on his past experiences. I think more specifically he referenced the Price to Toronto deal which he seemed to hint he would have done had he known Price would be available. Of course as we all know, the Astros got Gomez who didn't amount to anything.

I've heard Mrs Carrol make calls to The Point After from like 2009-2011, then I heard her on the Astros' 10th Inning Show as early as 2012.
She still calls The Point After, I heard her call in after the Raiders game back in September.
My guess is that she is from New Orleans, but moved to Houston.
