Been busy with my son’s baseball practice.... wasn’t able to read the whole thread. Can I assume this is the general theme?

And the bottom 3 of our order was kidnapped and impostors were inserted into the lineup.

The ransom call came to the DAT green room. We hung up on them.

And Correa has been laying off the chase pitches

3 BBs, 1B, and an oppo liner to diving RF

Showing better plate discipline

Could be the suck Rangers staff too. LOL

Good topic for a Saturday thread ahead as well.

MLB is expanding by 2 teams in the next five years. Expect 8 divisions of 4 teams like the NFL.

Meaning our long West Coast nightmare may soon be over.

Oakland to Vegas... add Nashville (NL) and Portland (AL).

AL West: LAA, Vegas, Portland, Seattle

AL Midwest: Texas, Houston, KC, Minnesota

AL Central: Detroit, Cleveland, CWS, Toronto

AL East: NYY, Boston, Baltimore, Tampa

NL West: LAD, San Diego, San Fran, Arizona

NL Central: Colorado, St. Louis, CHC, Milwaukee

NL South: Atlanta, Miami, Nashville, Washington

NL East: Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, NYM, Philly

I was thinking more along the lines we'd get KC and Tampa in a 'South' division.

Central keeps Minny.

East keeps Toronto.

Las Vegas, Portland, Charlotte, Montreal. MLB wants to go international with Mexico City but I have a hard time seeing it happen.

A's move to Vegas
Rays move to Montreal
Expansions in Portland and Nashville

These are both issues MLB will want resolved before expansion and realignment, I'm sure. A's will stay out west but Tampa moving messes up the map a little more.

If Rays to Montreal:

AL West: LAA, Vegas, Portland, Seattle

AL South: Texas, Houston, KC, Colorado

AL Central: Detroit, Cleveland, CWS, Minnesota

AL East: NYY, Boston, Baltimore, Toronto

NL West: LAD, San Diego, San Fran, Arizona

NL Central: Cincinnati, St. Louis, CHC, Milwaukee

NL South: Atlanta, Miami, Nashville, Washington

NL East: NYM, Philly, Pittsburgh, Montreal

A division i think makes the most sense to the Astros is KC, Colorado and Texas.

But I'm afraid they'll try to make realignment as seamless as possible without forcing teams into a different league and preserving old rivalries so we'll end up with something geographically stupid like Orioles sharing a division with the Texas teams.

I just don't see Nashville supporting a MLB team... they have the same issue as New Orleans.

I actually believe San Antonio could support a 3rd team in Texas over a team in Nashville.

You hit the nail on the head, and I think they'd do that switch. The Rockies don't really have rivalries that matter much to keep from moving. shite, they moved us when we had real history with NL teams. Plus, switching new Montreal back to the NL just makes sense.

AL West

Portland
Seattle
Las Vegas
LA

AL South

Colorado
KC
Texas
Houston

AL North

Minnesota
Toronto
Detroit
Chicago

AL East

Baltimore
New York
Boston
Cleveland

NL West

LA
SF
SD
Arizona

NL South

Atlanta
Miami
Nashville
Washington

NL North

Chicago
Milwaukee
St Louis
Cincinnati

NL East

New York
Montreal
Philadelphia
Pittsburgh

Colorado and TB/Montreal swap leagues but as expansion teams they have the least amount of history there anyway. Plus the Expos should be an NL team.

Look at that map though and tell me this setup doesn't make the most sense geographically while still maintaining important division rivalries.

The real wrench in everything is that Tampa can't get out of their lease at the Trop until after the 2027 season which may be a reasonable time line of expectation to expect 4 stadiums to get built

Assuming expansion isn't done until 2026 like Jon Morosi was saying on radio today, the timeline is fine for the Rays. It'll be clear whether they're staying or leaving (and where to) by then.
