How do y'all feel about Harvey?
It's for sure not THE move but the mets have to be blowing it up-familia is now out with a blood clot in his arm. Harvey is damaged goods for sure but we'd be paying pennies on the dollar for him to be our 5th starter.

If it's really cheap I would be all for it. If it would knock out one of our big trade chips needed to get someone like Archer then no. Harvey has not pitched well this year on top of the other issues so I wouldn't want to be counting on him to be that other TOR guy

Of course like I said I'm not looking at is as THE move but just a cheap move to upgrade the fifth spot and w guy who's potential far exceeds a five.

Yeah. It's not that I don't like guys like Davis/Fisher/Kemp/Moran/White....I just don't see how they fit into this teams future. More than willing to part ways with them to improve our weaknesses

I agree. I don't want to give up all those guys you listed though. I would like to keep one of Fisher and Davis ideally because I think they could be nice bench/platoon options down the line.
If it was Reed/Fisher/Fiers would you feel different? Only reason I'm including Fiers is because the Mets need guys to simply eat innings right now with all their injuries

I'd be pretty hesitant to give up Reed. I'm still very optimistic about him. I could live with him being part of an Archer trade but idk bout harvey. And yeah I'd be more than happy to send Fiers packing in return

If someone goes down for an extended period I would think him or Hernandez gets called up. They both may get their chance next year if Beltran retires
