Imagine stealing signs and still losing 7-0. It's a new low for tLLC. Sad!

Well going 4 Greinke, and 5 Verlander is fine with a bullpen game at 6 to give Cole the ball in the 7th game is fine if they split 4/5. However, like I mentioned if they somehow lost both of those games and go back to Houston down 3-2. Then you have to pitch Cole game 6. That leaves 7 either as a bullpen game or bringing Greinke/Verlander on short rest.

You have to go bullpen game in 6 and then Cole in 7.
You can't pitch game 7 with Greinke on 2 days rest or Verlander on 1. Maybe they get an inning or two if necessary but that's not even short rest.
So, given that you have to win a bullpen game AND a Cole start, give Cole full rest and throw every arm necessary in game 6.

Astros won Game 7s in ‘17 in ALCS and WS using starters for half games, IIRC
I think they’re willing to take their chances in a Game 7 at home, esp considering their opponent lacks quality starters that they expect to give them more than 5 innings, and likely will have a very used pen come Game 7 after 4 straight games.

All depend on if you win game 4 or 5. If You go up 3-1 you pitch Verlander and try to close it out. If Greinke loses but JV wins, you go back to Houston with options. You could throw bullpen in 6 and have the potential to have Cole start game one of the series, or you still have Cole for 7 if you need him. Urquidy starting in MMP is very different than Yankee Stadium

The simple fact of the matter is that Verlander is going to pitch exactly one more time in this series and Greinke is going to pitch exactly one more time in this series. Why not just pitch them on their normal rest instead of waiting?
Someone said "If Greinke and Verlander both lost, the Astros are screwed".
Well guess what....that statement is true no matter what days they pitch.

Verlander won the only game we took in NY in reg season too
He’s not worried about where the game takes place
The sooner he pitches on normal rest, the quicker he gets to pitch again

No, the goal is, “Don't let the Yankees go up 3-2.”
If you are up 3-2, you can use Game 6 as a bullpen day and hope your bats come alive. Game 4 was supposed to be your bullpen day, now it becomes Game 6.
To think the Stros will win the next two is a pipe dream. The hope is to split these next two and not face an elimination game in Game 6.

I mean, if you win tomorrow and then throw Verlander in Game 5, that's not much of a pipe dream.

Lol at all the naysayers and malcontents thinking we do anything else but g-sweep.

If any team can get a three game sweep in the postseason at Yankee Stadium, it’s the 2019 Houston Astros.
However, it’s extremely difficult to do.
Remember the 2017 Postseason. The Astros won a World Series, but had no answer for how to win at Yankee Stadium.
I think some of you do not realize the level of difficulty that a postseason sweep in Yankee Stadium requires.

I'm pretty sure we all understand how difficult it is. But the way the rotation and weather lined up with Cole in Game 3 and Verlander in Game 5, the concept became far more realistic. The Astros are a small underdog tomorrow, but they'll be favored to sweep the three games in NY if they win Game 4.

I don’t disagree with any of that, although I’ll add that, even with JV on the mound, the Astros won’t be an “overwhelming” favorite.
The game will be a virtual toss up, with the Stros being favored by a slim margin.
I’m not sure if any team has won three in a row in Yankee Stadium in the postseason, well, ever.
Boston won two in a row in 2004.
I think Florida won two in a row in 2003.
