Oh it's highly unlikely but certainly not impossible if we win out.

Maybe I've had too much wine tonight, but we can win ALCS HFA and still face BOS in first round?

It's possible wahoocs, but if they're in as a wild card it's probable they'll throw sale in it and therefore maybe we face him once.

Help an old man out and explain that
If we're one seed, we play WC winner, right?
That leaves CLE vs BOS, no?

If Boston is in the wildcard game, almost no chance they throw Sale.
1) He's scheduled to throw Sunday.
2) If for whatever reason he doesn't throw Sunday, he'd throw Monday in the AL East one-game playoff against the Yankees.
It's very unlikely the Yankees win the East without having to beat Boston in a one-game playoff.

For Houston to finish with the best record and still play Boston, they'd need to basically win their last 5 games.
That would include 4 wins over Boston, helping the Yankees catch Boston in the East. Also, a 5-0 finish would be good enough to overtake Cleveland, unless the Indians finish 4-1 or better.
Cleveland does finish at home against the White Sox, so even if Houston wins out there's a decent chance they don't catch the Indians.

Very possible. Right now, the Red Sox are 3 up on the Yankees with 5 left to play. If the Yankees gain another game tomorrow, this weekend could get VERY interesting. The Yankees host the Rays Thursday and the Blue Jays over the weekend.
If the Astros start rolling over the Red Sox and the Yankees keep winning, all hell may break loose.
Correct me if I am wrong, but if the Yankees and Red Sox end up tied, they would have to play a tiebreaker game to see who wins the division and who gets the wild card, right??

Also, keep in mind that if Boston does end up in the wildcard game, it would be after a historic last week collapse, and they wouldn't have Sale on the mound.
Minnesota will throw their ace and have everyone rested and ready. Boston would probably lose that game.
Ya know, in this far-fetched hypothetical.

Correct. It would be at Yankee Stadium, and Severino would be lined up to start for the Yankees.

I want to face the Yankees.
Seems possible that Astros could get 1 seed and get Yankees who win over Twins, while CLE and BOS play.
No?

Well we know who isn't making the postseason roster. Pitcher is a bum.
