1) Michigan with Shea Patterson (Coaches Poll #14) - Harbaugh's Year
2) LSU with Joey Burrow (Coaches Poll #24) - Coach O gets 20 year extension
3) Texas. I think Herman may take advantage of a weak Big 12 to surprise the world. (Coaches Poll #21)

Oregon and it's not even close.

Michigan - a lock to lose 4 games on their schedule at least
LSU - no comment
Texas - look at their schedule, 7 wins would surprise me

So what's your dark horses? That's the idea of the thread.

i would say washington is somewhat of a darkhorse even if they are expected to win the pac 12, just bc no one gives a hell about the pac 12

Moo State, Texas, and Michigan are kind of the trendy dark horse picks if such an oxymoron exists.
I’ll got outside the box and say West Virginia. They have a dark horse Heisman candidate at QB and a mostly favorable schedule until November. Gets rough though with @Texas, TCU, @Ok St, & Oklahoma to end the regular season.

Notre Dame.
They seem to have a pretty favorable schedule.

The 6th ranked team making a 4 team playoff is a dark horse? Um what? I’ll go with Arizona

Michigan State 10-3 last year with a lot of starters returning.

This... extremely favorable schedule, talent across the board, the massive year over year improvements on defense last year, and a presumably healthy Justin Herbert means that the Ducks are looking like a likely 10-win team.

So you want to ban me for suggesting that ranked teams have a chance to make the final four? You’re a crazy person
