Didn’t even give his team a shot with the hyper conservative offense and defense.

Didn’t expect this. Thought we’d see Chris Petersen/Boise mindset.

I don’t think any rational fan thought cincy had a shot.

Lol wut?

Their defense played great. The offense criticism is fair, but Fickell isn’t an offensive guy.

You can’t convince me he was coaching to win, but he’s got an impressive body of work.

Eta- it felt like his approach was to keep it close and hope to catch a break. Didn’t seem to try and create any opportunities themselves.

Their defensive game plan was not aggressive though.

They couldn’t stop the run and didn’t bring pressure much on passing downs.

Eh they didn't blitz much and continued to play coverage while not being able to stop the run. Yes the defense was conservative too

They were too afraid of Williams over the top so they kept the safeties back and UA killed them for it in the run game.

You have to trust your all American CB to win 1 on 1.

They sat back in a soft shell most of the game and let the running game pound them. Congrats on limiting the big play I guess

It didn’t need to be. As long as they prevented Jameson Williams home runs, they had a shot.

His defensive gameplan was more than fine. The offense completely shite the bed.

This is what I don't understand.

Best corner tandem in football, stack the run and let your corners do their job.

He had a team with a bunch of 6 year seniors. He's not as great as people claim he is.

Do you even understand the talent gap in this game?

What's your opinion on Lincoln Riley? He got his shite pushed in most of the time

What fricking game did you watch? Young was very uncomfortable in the pocket for the majority of the game.

Their defense gave up 27. They weren’t good enough.

The offense was way worse though, no argument.

Considering the talent gap and also comparing Georgia’s defensive performance against Alabama, Cincy’s defense played pretty good.

They were the only reason they even had a shot going into the 4th quarter.
