not many care about wrestling w/o steel chairs but the finals for the Olympic trials are on now.

Dake did the same thing to Burroughs in 2017 at the Worlds trials and Burroughs came back and won it.

also 2x world champ J'den Cox missed weight and is out.

eta: It's a winner take all thing, only 1 per weight class make the Olympic squad so you gotta win the thing.

Man how does that happen at the Olympic Trials? That sucks.

Is/Was Burroughs expected to win?

Kyle Snyder just wrecked Kollin Moore, up 7-0 after 1st period.

It gets to 10-0 and it's technical superiority win.

Wrestlers always cutting a shite ton of weight instead of going into a higher class. Daniel Cormier's kidneys shut down when he was on the Olympic team trying to make weight.

There's two 17 yr old HS girls that have advanced to the finals in their weight classes. They're just getting worked against women that have won world titles.

Not sure what that says about the state of women's wrestling.

Burroughs has been on a decade long tear, I think that may be just the 2nd match he's lost on American soil since 2011. Dake was the other in 2017.

He got screwed

He was told that weigh in was 9am, he got there at 8am, was x amount over, he cut weight, came back before 9am, and made weight, then was told he had to weigh in before 8am.

He is appealing, not sure if it's been heard. He got jobbed, not screwed up.

Cormier was competing in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing when his kidneys shut down due to cutting weight. I vividly remember watching the Olympics anticipating Daniel’s match. His opponent walked onto the mat and his hand was raised as the winner by forfeit. DC never made it to the arena since he was in a hospital bed fighting for his life. That event still haunts Daniel to this day.

Not sure, i was on tigerboard, and they had the story about it. Sounds like he was given a wrong time for weigh in.

And he was only like .5 over when he first weighed in, then cut weight, reweighed, and was told he made weight, then was told minutes later he was supposed to weigh in at 8am, and that was his final time.

Sounds like some one screwed up, when giving him is weight assignment, and gave him the wrong time frame(8am-9am)

Sucks, guy is a monster and is a damn good dude.

I’m excited to see what Gable Steveson can do in Tokyo. A guy that big shouldn’t be able to move like he does.
