My point is you can't hold it against him. If you win 10+ every year, and are middling against highly ranked opponents, you are a great coach

What does that have to do with this conversation? I am not comparing the two. Gus has his issues. But he also has 3 wins against #1 ranked Teams. Does Chip have that since we are comparing?

We will see how he does at UCLA. My guess is he gets bored of not doing well and not having the bank to help with recruiting and he leaves there with a burning turd left behind

Are these rankings during or after the season?

At time of the game. I know one was #1 at the end of the season and one was #2. Not sure about Bama 2013.

I have never been involved with a thread about Chip on this board. I was merely looking for answers.

You know that Chip Kelly won a ton of games at a program that had never been better than average. You know they were a national power. You said he failed everywhere and had no accomplishments. Basically, if they had blown the whistle on that crazy Michael Dyer play, Chip Kelly would be a great coach. Apparently that's the difference.

That sounds pretty average.

I correct it. They are a historically below average program. Bellotti got them to average

Why would they blow the whistle on a play that was not down. And what makes you think Oregon wins if they did? You are grasping for bullshite now.

He is a good coach but he no not accomplished a huge thing that would make him the most sought after coach. He was good at beating the Pac12 while at Oregon where he had a huge cash flow and could recruit basically who he wanted. He did not do well against out of conference ranked teams. He failed in the NFL and currently is not doing great, though its early, at UCLA. All are valid points

If the refs would have blown a play down that was not down is not a valid point

Based on 'accomplishments' who would be more accomplished and sought after? You got 4 current coaches who have won a national title - Saban, Meyer, Dabo and Jimbo. That's it. None of them were going to UCLA. So who?

bullshite...recruiting top flight players consistently was a struggle still.

He missed out on O/D lineman constantly. They missed out on top flight linebackers constantly.

Every time Chip faced the OSU's of the world he had less talent across the board.

Eta...I think his best recruiting class was #13 but hexwas typically between 15-20.

His 3 recruiting classes on 247 were below. I didnt count 2009 because he arrived there right at signing day

You were pretty close but he did well with recruiting at Oregon with the NIKE machine behind him

2010 - Ranked 12 - 3rd in Pac behind USC and UCLA
2011 - Ranked 12 - 2nd in the Pac 12 behind USC
2012 - Ranked 14 - 3rd in Pac 12 behind USC and Stanford
