It's obvious he is walking away from college football altogether once his youngest son graduates from Clemson.
He’s one win away from being Clemson’s most winningest coach. I think he’s 12 away from surpassing Bobby Bowden for most ACC wins. I could see the Bowden record as being a goal.

but I’ve always felt that taking live phone calls on a radio show is a dumb idea

I wouldn't do it if I were a D1 coach. Not from callers.

This is like Dan Enos getting into an email back and forth w a freshman student at Arky about play calling a few weeks ago. I know the job can be stressful but come on, men.

But probably not the best way to go about saying it.

That is the most authentic statement he's ever made at Clemson. I love it. Most of the time he's just a mix of insincere and cornball. And he's exactly right: he's done things at Clemson that nobody thought could happen, but that's ignored due to one truly bad year.

I had to look this up and he’s only 4 behind Bowden.

Bowden coached 18 years in the ACC, Swinney is in year 16. That’s crazy.

Can’t get into with the fans. It’s a losing battle.

I'm fine with it. Dude has had an amazing run. People complain that Russel Wilson is all cliches, yet get mad at Dabo for this.

900 words in six minutes is a rant.

You don’t have to say frick every other word for it to be considered a rant.

Engaging trolls is a bad idea in any line of work.

Maddie Landry found that out.

I get his POV but definitely some of it should've stayed in his head

Did he just inadvertently bag Clemson's history? He's sort of telling the fan, you don't know how good you have it.

Expectation follows lots of winning...appreciation follows years of mediocrity.

Reminds me of what John Wooden said about fickle fans:

After UCLA lost in the semis of the 1974 NCAA tournament (after winning 9 out of 10 Championships) a fan approached him and said, "thanks for letting us all down John."

Wooden said, "I knew it was then probably time to retire.". He said he would retire following the next season. The Bruins won the Championship over Kentucky in his final game.

Tyler was bending Dabo over his knee. That was brutal.

I thought he sounded dumb. Like he read the last 3 Tigernet posts and called up the head coach.

Zero chance I’d take calls. I’d maybe answer pre given questions that have been somewhat screened, but why in the world would anyone let some coonass have access to the coach on live radio?
