Curley Hallman coached 31 SEC games. Ed Orgeron has also coached 31 SEC games.

Hallman: 10-21
Orgeron: 7-24
Let that sink in for a moment LSU fans.

I'm not an AD at a major university but a 12 million dollar buyout for a guy that's 7-24 sounds like a bad deal.

Damn. I thought nebraskas situation with Mike Riley was worse from a money standpoint.

Ed orgeron is a mouth breathing rock eater.

One of the worst hires in the history of college football.

I feel like every LSU fan is going to claim they hated the hire from jump street
When in reality, it was about 50/50....maybe?

Kevin Sumlin signed an extension in Jan 2014 thru 2019 that guaranteed him every penny. Worst ever?

You clearly haven't followed some of us on the CC board.

50/50 is being generous, isn't it?
I know there were countless posters irate about the hire, though.
I'm not trying to be a dick here, but wasn't part of the appeal to hiring him was he'd allow the 2 badass coordinators do their thing?
The defense tonight looked really overmatched. I didn't watch the entire game but MSU got the edge every time they wanted from what I saw.

When you have absentee ownership, everything goes down the drain.
The MSB is going to have a higher % of people who hated the move. It was mostly moronic Tiger Rant types who thought cooking gumbo and owning a binder makes someone qualified to have a top 10 (now top 15) HC position.

quote:when did this happen exactly? Because of I remember right, immediately after his hire people were citing the fact that he had no buyout as one of the benefits of hiring him. What leverage did he have?

I need his agent..... And his binder.

The coonasses and the women wanted O because "he talks like us" and "he's a good 'ol bayou boy" The few logical fans saw the writing on the wall. Personally I Knew this was coming, i didn't think this would happen this soon

The problem is coaching isn't all done by the coordinators. Saban doesn't just let his coordinators do their thing. The HC intervenes when necessary, tweaks here, adjusts here, because he's supposed to be the foremost authority in the program. Orgeron can't do that. He didn't even have an answer on why Guice wasn't in the RB rotations.
How can players respect someone they know doesn't really matter all that much?
