How many ways are there to roll a 5, 6, 7, 8? The field bet is there because it's a house friendly bet.
Every bet on the table carries a house advantage except for the odds on your point. There is no house advantage when taking odds. On the odds, you get the mathematically correct payout.

As for the field bet:

If the field pays triple your bet on either the 2 OR 12, then the house advantage is 2.78%.

If the field only pays double on the 2 AND the 12, then the house advantage is 5.56%.

For the sake of reference, the house advantage for American roulette is 5.26%.

All the low level table were paying 6:5
I don't consider these tables to be real Blackjack. Mathematically, the odds are much worse than regular Blackjack. Even if I'm counting cards at a single deck Blackjack table, I still can't overcome the HA because getting paid 6:5 on a blackjack is such a bad play.

Big 6/8
This bet is so disadvantageous to the gambler that it is illegal in some jurisdictions.

Better to place the 6 & 8 than screw yourself by only getting even money with the Big 6/Big 8.

Here's the math:

House advantage when placing the 6 or 8- 1.52%

House advantage when playing Big 6/Big 8- 9.09%

Any 7s
If you're going to bet the 7's in the middle of the felt, at least hop the 7's (that is, three separate bets on each of the 7's: 6-1, 5-2, & 4-3) because although it's still a bad bet, it's slightly better mathematically than just betting on Big Red.

Any casinos in the gulf region giving out better than 2x on 2 & 12 for field bets?

I wanna say the Beaux pays 3:1 on 12 for field bets.

First time I went to a casino, it was the second day of our trip. I walk up to a craps table. And it turned out to be a "no craps" table.

Long story short, guy down the table from me ends up winning over 600k. If I had known what I know now, I could of racked up. It was a great experience though. Pit bosses were surrounding the table. The guy rollin' was standing next to me and was cool as shite. I said hey to him later in the night and another hot roller came out. He gave me $200 bucks after that.

Any decent craps dealer won't let you bet the Big 6/8. If you place the 6/8 for 5, it pays you 6. You still can take it down whenever you want.

I've never understood what a come bet is. I know how to play the game aside from that.

Simple way to explain. It's a pass line bet in the middle of a point.

So if the point is 8, and you make a come bet. Next roll is a 5, your money gets moved to 5. If the next roll is a 7 or 11, you win 1:1 on the come bet. Craps, you lose.

Basically betting if the shooter rolls a 4,5,6,8,9, or 10 they will roll that number again before crapping out. The bet pays even money, the odds on those bets pay +money (up to 2/1 for 4 and 10) which is why I like to play it. Some places you can go up to 10x odds (but usually its 3x, 4x, 5x) on the number. Like said previously i'm sure, you have to have a pretty decent size bankroll to start off with to play this way.

Eta Just like a pass line bet is a lot easier way to explain it

If you hop the 7's, the bet will pay 15-1 when a 7 is rolled.

As is the case with betting Any 7, this is a one roll bet.

The Any 7 bet has a house advantage of 16.67%. At a payoff of 15 to 1, you lower the house edge to 11.11% by hopping the 7's.

Pass line/odds

After point is established, I start making come bets and placing odds on them. Repeat until shooter 7's out.

That is the fun way to play. And when those heaters come

Few things are more exciting than a craps heater.

Not really, I don't always do it. I do pass/odds sometimes as well. One time in Tunica one of the dealers saw me betting it and just shook his head at me

If I do win, I don't celebrate, just kinda stand there nobody cares. If they did say something serious to me I'd tell them to frick off.

Pretty much how you should do it. Sometimes you get drunk idiots badgering you but other than that, if you keep to your own and don't celebrate it's fine.

I personally like pass line, 6 and 8, and sometimes the Come out if I feel like spending a little more for entertainment.

I throw a huge bet behind the line to increase the odds as much as possible.

Don't pass is a negligible odds difference from the pass line. I don't see why people would want to bet there and get the stink eye and also not join in when the shooter gets hot.

Do don't passer's bet against themselves when they shoot? Or just pass the dice along.

You don't shoot if you are on the don't pass. Very counterproductive between the shooter and casino

Get on the don'ts when I'm rolling. I'm the worst shooter in history. Point, 7.
