i know boras said keuchel would take a week between joining team and then making his first start, which seems aggressive, so i would assume most teams would want to get him in ASAP. feel like he should be signed sometime this week but idk

Kimbrel will be a good pickup for someone, keuchel..idk. i think he's been declining for a little while now, will depend on the price he commands

id be down for kimbrel. but we only have 10 million or so of tax space and we probably would want some leverage for the deadline and i doubt hed take any less than just a pro rata ammount from the QO

Boras mouthpiece Heyman says Yankees leaders for Keuchel but still apart on $$$. Braves and Cardinals are top contenders.

Braves, Phillies, Twins, Rays connected to Kimbrel.

Doubt Yankees would sign him. Yankees gave the 3rd best ERA in baseball and 4th best WAR from starting pitchers in the majors according to baseball reference. Now a lot of that has to do with how Paxton and CC look coming off injury and German having two sub par performances. If Severino comes back in July it will really help the starters out and add some length.

i just think its funny that it was presented as a "we will not sign you if you dont shave". like its some major part of the negotiation

I mean it is pretty well known fact that playing for the Yankees requires it. I mean not like it should surprise Dallas or Boras

In. Really hope the Braves decide to bring Kimbrel back. Dallas would be a good addition as a third guy, I don’t think he’ll have ace stuff again but I can see him being a high upside signing, low risk.

I tend to agree on both counts, though I will say Boston chose to go with Sale over Kimbrell to close out the WS. Kimbrell wasn't shut down late post season. Maybe he had too many innings last year and the rest will serve him well?

Sure would like the Cubs to get him our pen has been very shaky. Some good arms but no consistency...too many walks.

The Yankees are going to limit Germans innings he is likely to move into the pen soon to maximize those innings so a Keuchel type could very likely happen

Yankees won't have to, he is doing a great job on his own. Plus I've read they're willing to go to 140-150 innings with him which would give him 80-90 more. For him that is another 10 starts and once Severino returns I've seen it mentioned for a 6 man rotation to give Tanaka, CC, Paxton and German rest daya

I want the rangers to be in on both since we have plenty of cash and are a surprising three-games over .500.

We have used an opener like 14 times this season. Our rotation is shite and our bullpen is even worse.

Gallo just strained an oblique so that probably just made it a certainty that we chase neither and just sell inside.
