but damn they are no way in the same league as Los Angles or Miami.

The Lakers aren't in any "league" until they put together a frontcourt with a pulse...

NO will also get Luis Scola, Kevin Martin, Goran Dragic and 2 draft picks, along with Lamar Odom. Hornets did well.

There is literally no way they could have gotten more than that for a player in the last year of his deal that was only open for a S&T to a couple teams

Not anymore....in 2008 they were. The Celtics will look completely different next year.

Looking like tha Hawnets are getting a good deal here and the Rockets are screwing themselves. I understand them wanting to free up some space to get Marc, but they're trading away their best two players for someone who isn't even much better than Scola.

Man it's freakin sad to see Paul go. He was good to N.O. But we had to get something or get burned at the end of the year. I love Odom, I don't love his age, but I love his versatility. Can K-Mart still shoot? I honestly have no idea. I wish we could have gotten some picks.

These are my thoughts as well.

The statement was assuming they get DH from Orlando. Is Dallas winning an anomaly? I mean Boston and the Lakers have 17 and 16 titles respectively between them. The teams that have won the most have always had the ELITE players on the team. Yeah Jordan might not have had what Miami does now, but Pippen wasn't garbage.

I haven't read this whole thread, but I think the Lakers are worse today than they were yesterday. If they don't wind up pulling off the Howard deal, I'm not sure they can win the West, much less the Finals.

Monty Williams will have a stroke when he sees how terrible his team will be at defense. Should make for some exciting games, though.

If stuck with Bynum and no DH I think you may be right.

So if the Lakers don't get Okafor, can a numbers person tell me how much L.A. just cut with this trade....10 mil? They still wouldn't be able to sign Howard next year, correct? I think Kobe is due 28 mil next year.....

Eta: maybe Stern can create a special 1-year only rule, and grant the Lakeshow to go over the cap in order to sign Dwight to a 7 year contract.....wouldn't surprise me.

CP3 should've demanded a trade to the other L.A. team. Metta and a broken Kobe won't be fun in another year or two.

I love this trade. Now, I'm just bull shiting, but Hansbrough for West would be awesome.
