Another superstar goes to a big market team in the NBA... or in MLB.

This stuff is predictably routine and the reason I can never take those leagues seriously.

Why should I buy Hornets tickets when they're always going to be at a long term competitive disadvantage?

The Lakers board is pretty pissed about this. If they don't get Howard they better have a damn good back up plan trading away all of their size

Well with no owner I can only assume that they have little to no bargaining power in these trades.

foregone conclusion. Howard and Paul said LA is the place to be. Kobe gave his approval. Stern makes it happen.

As a Laker and Hornet fan I dont really like this deal. The best thing the Lakers had going for them was the 3 man rotation at the 4/5. Now that is gone. If they can sling Bynum for Howard then I would like it. Until then the front court just took a huge hit.

For the Hornets Gasol and Odom do nothing to help them long term and their roster isn't good enough to win with them right now. If they had kept Collison and Thornton, they would have a prety sick lineup.

RIght now they actually have 3/5 of the Lakers first title run Ariza/Gasol/Odom

ETA: if it is Martin, Scola, Odom, and picks it looks much better for the Hornets

Thats the one thing that negated their lack of perimeter athletism.

The Last 4 NBA champions have had 2 6'11+ rim protectors on their starting front lines and in the end, size generally wins in this league.

I dont see why they would part with their winning formula. Length wins in this league, and they just traded it all away. They traded away WHAT WON them a championship.

They gave up too much if you ask me

if it's really kmart and LO and dragic, this hornets team just got better and this is among the best ways the hornets could've gone for paul.
