Collison for david lee would be awesome

It would be good but DC and Okafor for Lee and a pick would be even better. Hornets needs to get out of Okafor's contract bc he is NOT biggest enough to be a 5 in the West.

Someone with the Times Pic reported this but who knows how true it is, how serious he is about it if true,

He's not going to buy the team and then trade CP3. Certainly not for David Lee.

Have some common sense. Regardless if the guy heard him say it or heard it through the grapevine, Chouset isnt going to frick up the team right after he purchases it outright

Simmons has a little something on Okafor being an LVP candidate (least valuable player) in his column today:

quote:

Emeka Okafor (No. 2) deserves his own paragraph. His career arc looks like something you'd see from a guy in his mid-30's. His contract ($10.6 million this year, $38 million over the next three) is a salary cap tsunami for a small market team. He's a horrible match for a Hornets team that once loved having its big guys set picks for its point guards, then roll to the hoop for alley-oops. (Okafor can't do it. Not in his skill set.) Since he can't post up or shoot free throws, he's useless for them offensively. (According to hoopdata.com, he was a 38% shooter inside 10 feet.) Defensively, his shotblocking/rebounding numbers dipped and his athleticism made you think, "Wait, is that Theo Ratliff?" Maybe Okafor hasn't been a bust on the Pervis/Darko/Bowie/LaRue/Kwame/Oden (sorry, he has to be thrown in at least for now) level, but at the very least, he's been profoundly disappointing. I'm just glad I never wrote that Orlando should have taken him over Dwight Howard.

I don't know if I could have written that any better. With that said, the Hornets would pay his full contract in a buyout tomorrow before trading Paul to get rid of his contract.

They're interested in Hinrich, who may be easier to acquire

Hinrich makes more sense due to his ability to knock down open shots and he doesn't need the ball in his hands to be successful. Tough grity player
