I think they should go defense, but this pick definitely fits Jerry

quote:

Here's what ESPN's Chris Mortensen is reporting about one team's pursuit of Pitts, via First Take:

Dallas Cowboys longtime owner and GM Jerry Jones is 'infatuated' with Florida Gators tight end Kyle Pitts. Pitts, widely considered the best non-QB talent in this draft. The Cowboys currently have the No. 10 pick in the 2021 Draft, but Mortensen believes that Jones could trade up to select Pitts to join the Cowboys as another offensive weapon for Dak Prescott."

Yikes!

The idea of Pitts lining up as yet another offensive weapon in an already-loaded Cowboys offense is pretty concerning on its face. Dallas's offense is going to be a handful over the next half-dozen years.

quote:

He's a stud. Is he worth giving up significant draft capital to go and get? We'll see if Jones believes so pretty soon.

I’d lol if they did. They have decent WR talent. TThey need impact defensive players or OL help

Never said it was jerry, but lets go down this road.

So its someone else who never had to work their way up and doesn't face repercussions for stupid decisions? What an improvement. Now the cowboys will surely be able to win despite the horrendous contracts they gave zeke, dak, and Amari. Professional front offices be damned, the NFL needs more of jerry's relatives

I don’t know why y’all put any stock into this predraft trade talk nonsense. I don’t think they’d let anything like this hit the media if that’s what they wanted to do. Are there any instances of that happening before?

He won’t go offense again will he. More importantly will he pick him from his yacht

Yeah 1-3 they are one of the top units in the league. This seems like it’d be a massive luxury pick.

Stevie Boy actually has worked his way up. First time he was put in charge he did miserable. They took power away brought in Parcells and then taught him how to listen to others and build a team

Injuries have killed franchise. But Stevie Boys drafts have been solid. He built the OL. Last year was given a gift with CeeDee.

Will McClay is the Cowboys GM and has been for a few years now. He just doesn’t have the GM title. But he is paid and treated exactly like one

They still let Jerry act like he’s making the picks. But he isn’t and hasn’t in several years

Jerry learned his lesson in 2014 when Stephen Jones had to wrestle the phone away from him, and lock him in a broom closet to keep Jerry from drafting Johnny Manziel.

Zack Martin wasn’t nearly as exciting as Manziel at the time, but turned out to be a home run pick.

Cowboys need a defensive playmaker. Their OL, WR, and RB room should be good.

But man do I hope they trade up for a luxury offensive player.

The OL is not good. The injuries and retirement have killed it

Pitts is the best player in the draft and the best college player I've seen in years. Jerry has been searching for a TE for what seems like a decade now.

In saying all that if he blows his whole draft trading up for Pitts when he clearly has so many other needs, he's insane...but, then again. Passing on Randy Moss probably haunts Jerry to this day.
