For instance the guy that plays the Mountain on Game of Thrones

Could you imagine this guy trying to line up at defensive tackle?

Measurables - 6'9" 397 lbs and leaner than just about everyone in the NFL when he wants to be

His personal record on squat is 970
Bench PR is 507
Holds the world record for traditional dead lift at 1,041 lbs

I'd say if he had any interest at all with minimal coaching he could destroy every offensive lineman in the NFL

It’s all about technique and footwork. Size is obviously needed but without the former it doesn’t matter.

Of course

He started his athletic career as a basketball player

I'm sure he could pick up the footwork

He's likely the perfect candidate out of all of those guys

Could being that tall hurt him? Other than knocking down passes obviously

there are these traits called speed and quickness ... doubt "the mountain" has the requisite amount of either of those ...

How well can these baws transfer their strength? How well is their balance? How well is their feet work?

If he could he probably would. A lot more money in football

Most probably aren't great

He is likely the exception due to his experience with basketball IMO

He would obviously need some coaching but if he was receptive to coaching and serious about it I don't think he could be blocked.

If they could compete in the NFL they'd be there now. In high school they would have shown some ability in FB or discovered by the FB coaches.

He also has an acting career

A lot more brain injuries in football as well. Something that he has literally 0 exposure to right now

Probably wouldn't be in his best interest to play football

I'm sure if he focused his training on those things he would be fine

Probably a lot more explosive than you think

initially i would challenge his endurance and would run tosses and wr screens to negate his size and strength up the middle.

however with enough training and commitment im sure he could hang

I wonder how he would do on offense where you couldn't really scheme around him.

Takes a lot more skill to play offensive tackle though that's why I mentioned DT

There's no way he could get low enough or be quick enough at the snap. Slow on a the snap and too high ain't gonna work. He might work on a kick block team.

Right

But he isn't THAT much taller than lineman currently in the NFL

Being shorter doesn't guarantee getting lower

And he's probably strong enough to overpower people without having the correct leverage

Highly highly highly doubt he has NFL level quickness and can guarantee he can't get low enough at 6'9'' 390
