You know in Week 11 we all but won the Heisman for McFadden as he rushed for 321 yards on a 9.1 ypc night and 1 TD. He also threw a TD. (He also rushed for over 200 yards vs us in 2006, the man killed us)

However, in week 12 we then won the Heisman for Tebow when he threw for 304 yards and 2 TDs and ran for 106 yards and 5 TDs for a 7-TD game.

That was a very rough pair of weeks to be a Gamecocks fan.

He was special in the fact that he never won a post season game. He obviously had to have special ed* coaching to achieve that!

* A backfield with Darren McFadden, Peyton Hillis and Felix Jones could not win a bowl game.

Who opened the 2010 Crow Pie Reserve? I was saving that bottle for a special occasion.

I thought that this board decided that bowl games are meaningless

Dude he finished 2nd.

Ohio State was #1 and Arkansas was like #20 and lost to Wisconsin in their bowl game.

That's always how the Heisman cookie crumbles.

OB or RB? Check!

Top Team? Check!

To get screwed out of something by definition it has to be close...but some biased few altered the results.

The vote wasn't even close. An entire nation can't screw somebody out of something.

He finished 2nd. This wasn't some injustice that everyone was blind to but Arkansas fans.

Arkansas was #8.

Besides 2007 was the close year. 2006 was Troy Smith.

07 was the Tebow year and it was 462-291. 1957 total to 1703.

The 2006 Heisman robbery is perhaps greater than 2007...at least had decent competition that year with Tebow... Al be it, on a loaded roster Florida Tema that greatly under achieved that year.

But losing to fricking Troy Smith was abhorrent.

Smith checked all the old antiquated Heisman boxes, upper class QB on the first place team, but the actual star power was just not there.

I remember all the "experts" saying, "well, McFadden is probably the best player in the country, but Troy Smith deserves the hesiman because the award doesn't go to lower classman."

Very next year, Tebow, a true sophomore, wins the award.

Ask any LSU fan who put more fear into them.

The athletes Nutt fell into are somewhat staggering. Not only did he have maybe the best backfield ever with Dmac, Hillis, and Jones, right before that he had one of the biggest athletic freaks of all time in Matt Jones.

I'll go to my grave saying McFadden was robbed of a Heisman and was, at worst, the third best RB in SEC history, only behind Bo and Herschel.

Btw, Dmac also played about half the season in 2006 with half a big toe. He basically kicked it off of his foot right before the season in a night club brawl.

Peyton Hillis’ deep thigh bruise in 2006 meant that Reggie Fish was returning punts. Fish would go on to gift Florida the 2006 SEC Championship. That conference title likely would have kept Nutt off the hot seat and the Petrino era would have never happened. It also would have meant an OSU-Michigan rematch for the BCS title. One of the most costly thigh bruises in history.

Fact. McFadden had a better passer rating than Troy Smith that year.

The 06 Hogs team was so stacked. Unbelievable that Nutt managed to lose 4 games with that roster. It’s the only legit national championship contending caliber Arkansas team I can remember. The LSU and Florida games to finish the season were both epic. LSU just got the best of us. Holliday’s kick return won that game. Huge play. The Hogs absolutely should have beaten Florida in Atlanta but just choked.

Hillis was unimaginably tough and played through awful injuries but for some reason that bone bruise really limited him. I’ve had a respect for “deep bone bruises” ever since.
