With all of the one and done guys at major programs, it’s hard for me to think that these guys are really loyal to the university or that they bleed for the program. I’m not faulting them, it’s a broken system though. The NBA and NCAA need to make this thing like baseball or something. Let the kids leave out of high school, but if they do go to college, they need to stay more than a year.

In the future, nobody is going to associate these guys with a college program.

So basically go back to how it was, and I agree. Either make it like football where you have to spend 3 years or make it so you can leave after high school.

College hoops is about the teams, not the players. I don’t watch March Madness to see lotto picks, and I don’t watch the NBA.

I don't care if the players like the teams.

I just want good basketball.

Big time CBB is a buncha athletes who have no clue what they're doing. This Duke MSU game is HORRIBLE.

I don’t think any highly touted recruit in either sport “bleeds the program”

They’re there because all they care about is going to the NFL or NBA
Just because it’s 3 years in football doesn’t change anything

I see it beginning to happen in football. I think there are still plenty of guys who go to the home state school with a sense of pride.

I also think those guys genuinely care about winning a title. I don’t think college b-ball players really give a crap about how the team does in the tourney.

I've always said if I was a one and done player, I'd go to UCLA, Texas, Miami, Arizona State, or San Diego State.

I want to go somewhere with warm weather, a good party scene, and hot white girls. Winning a championship is not at the top of my list. I don't want to be in towns like Lawrence or Lexington.

UCLA is probably the best option, because they are the best program of that bunch. I know they've had a good amount of one and dones recently, but I think they need to go all out like Kentucky and Duke do.

I’d rather watch minor league baseball than college basketball.

There is no worse and less-interesting ‘major’ sport than college hoops.

It’s a horrible product, and this will never change. It’s sad how the quality of the players and the play have shrunk in the last 10-15 years. I used to be a fan, but I’m done with it.

Remember that 30 for 30 on the Big East in the 80's.

Holy Crap...that was like a professional league.

That was the hey-day.

We're never going to see quality like that again.

If you make a line in the sand, they're all going to go Pro...so it's lose lose.

They need to start giving small stipends to players. Start off with something like $1150/month for freshman with it escalating up to around $1700/month for seniors. Also give athletes small bonuses for academic achievements. It'll cost significantly less than $1 million per year for football programs to pay these stipends to players which is a drop in the bucket for most Power 5 schools.

Lol same here. Wouldn’t care about playing for a “blue blood” program. Just point me in the direction of the jaw dropping sloots and big party scene.
