My question is how long are these boosters going to keep spending millions on players? It can't just be billionaires funding this. Spending a significant amount of money to sign some guy who can leave the next year is insane to me when you consider everything else you could blow it on

They can’t and that’s the point. So right now if you look at program value evals they’re skyrocketing meanwhile the profitability of the programs are sinking. Utah has already turned their program over to a private equity firm who gutted the athletic department and streamlined it with their own people. So Utah effectively sold their athletic program, this will start to spread and once the legal language is in place, after the split, the breakaway or industrial level programs will be their own league, owned by its own group. They’ll keep a partnership with the universities for the name and built in fan bases but they won’t be part of school athletic programs.

NIL should have been defined and contained to players being able to make money off of name, image, and likeness. You want to make tshirts with your mantra and sell them? Go for it. Get paid sponsorships to be a brand ambassador. The paying players to play at a school has and will continue to ruin the sport until they make kids sit out a year for transferring.

Ruin the sport for who? The NFL is an entertainment entity. College football is not supposed to be. How about we take away athletic scholarships, $100,000,000 coaching contracts, ridiculous facilities, and all TV exposure? You can go hunting or fishing on fall Saturdays while players who might actually resemble college students play ball.
But as long as greedy, entitled adults insist on the sport being perverted into a multibillion dollar entertainment behemoth for their benefit, I support the players in taking every fricking dime they can get from the system. I think it’s funny as shite.
