The race is pretty lame when you have 4 cars off the track in the first 5 laps of the race. Nascar should ban that shite.

I love how Kyle Petty thinks it was awesome that Keselowski picked up 4 or 5 spots by power sliding onto pit road...Like he didn't lose twice that many by having to put on 4 tires.

Sure does. They might as well run under caution for the first 120 laps.

Although a few cars are mixing it up at the front now. But nothing like 3 rows of 13 cars going at it.

That line of thinking is probably why Kyle never amounted to much behind the wheel. Hell at least he's better than Wally.

How often do they only take 2 tires? Every other time?

I'm going to be at my house in 20 minutes. I have this dvr'd. Is there any point in starting it over, other than to see Robin Meade?

I don't know how it is now with the new track surface, but I think they could go pretty much the whole race just changing right sides if they didn't lock up the brakes.

I was at Michigan last month. The Nationwide race had like 12 start & park cars.

Just depends on the individual car and their race strategy. There's really not a rule of thumb to it. Most times drivers will take two when others take four to gain track position. If a track doesn't eat up tires quickly you'll see a lot of two tire stops.

You didn't ask me but he's talking about the scrub cars that come to the track to qualify just to get in the race and collect their prize money. They start the race intending to park the car after a few laps.

I don't think he got significant damage but Gordon getting hit could have been avoided by not hogging pit lane... he wrecks Newman.

Yeah, in Nationwide sometimes the payout for finishing last is only like $6,000 less than if you finish 15th. Qualify a car, ride around for a few laps, you never have to change tires which cost about $2,000 a set, put minimal wear on the engine, and collect the prize money.

All of it could have been avoided if Newman hadn't tried to go around Kahne and get in front of a faster Gordon. There's really no need to win the race of pit road at Daytona unless it's at the end of the race. 2 spots in the middle of a Daytona race is nothing.
