Ball that takes a high hop like that you always go. Coach and runner both saw that ball landing behind the pitcher. Beckwith just made a good play fielding the ball.
Better to take the chance than rely on an unlikely 2 out hit

A lot of teams teach their base runners to read down angle with 1 out and on 3rd base. As soon as you see the ball is on the ground you run home full speed.
The idea is to put pressure on the defense, it's definitely an aggressive play but it wasn't a mistake that he ran.
Also I'd argue it worked since he forced the pitcher to rush and make a bad throw and he was safe

you go on contact in that situation, unless it's right at the pitcher, the pitcher made an amazing play on the ball can't blame the runner on that.

OK, so the game is on in the background. I am doing some work stuff. The Swede is on her iPad. This commercial about dip and mouth cancer plays. At the end, the announcer says, "Dip gives you mouth cancer."
She looks up from her iPad and says, "What did he say?"

marlins guy was at the rangers/yankees game the night they had a 3.5 hour rain delay. game starts back up at around 2:15am, and there's marlins guy right back in his seat.
