Only 21 balls. No walks of course.

Matt Cain also threw a very impressive scoreless nine.

Awesome game between two great arms and dreadful offenses.

Id be more pissed if I were Cain and threw nine scoreless and my team WON without giving up a run and got an ND.

In the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs I texted my buddy the game started at 9:15 cst and it was 11:09, so they finished 11 in under 2 hours and 20 minutes.

Tonight was a great night for pitching. Colon threw something like 38 straight strikes against the Angels.

Because pitching is boring and everyone loves the long ball.

The Giants' offense isn't too bad so far this season, they're about middle of the pack.

The Phils are second to last in baseball in runs scored.

I thought for sure they were last until you said this and I looked it up.

Phils are averaging 2.92 runs per game which is terribly bad.

Pirates are averaging 2.17 , and they are 3rd in the division

um... because there are only 10 to 15 pitchers of that quality on planet earth and it is rare that both pitchers are so on their games?
