they can't help their ACC schedule

it is what it is

so at least commend them for these 2

Notre Dame is generally a decent team and South Carolina can be a good team at times.

this, however, is pathetic

This was discussed a few days ago. Only 3 opponents had winning records in 2019.

they didnt schedule notre dame. they are playing notre dame through notre dames partnership with the ACC. and i mean, they could absolutely find a better p5 opponent than south carolina year in year out. i get they wont cause of rivalry or whatever, but i wouldnt be propping them up much for either

There is not a single potential top-level team on that schedule.

It’s not mediocre teams that make a schedule tough. A top-heavy and bottom-heavy schedule with no mediocre teams is much tougher even if they average out the same. The reason it is much tougher is because even though the bottom teams are cupcakes, you’re much more likely to lose to top teams.

So a schedule of Alabama, Auburn, Florida, but also McNeese, Western Kentucky, and Southern Miss is a lot tougher than a schedule
of 6 mediocre fbs teams like NC state and Syracuse.

It’s not their fault the conference is trash or that their in state SEC rival is trash

I do think though with even one loss on a schedule as bad as theirs they should be removed from any playoff discussion. You play a schedule that easy you should be punished more for taking an L

Who cares. If your team wins all of its games they will go to the playoffs and get a chance to knock them off.

People complain about other teams' schedules every year but nothing is ever going to come of it.

Then schedule tougher OOC opponents to make up for it.

I never faulted the SEC for scheduling cupcakes OOC because their conference schedules are always so ridiculously tough. I mean, why would they want to schedule tough OOC games when they have to play several ranked teams in conference while other conferences get to play much easier schedules?

You can't knock them when they have two P5 non conference games, no matter how much their conference schedule sucks.
