Sucks to see. The rona fricked the reds harder than any pro team in America

Traded away 2x all-star pitcher Sonny Gray
compensation is Twins 1st round pick 2021 Chase Petty
both teams won

As did the 94 strike, arguably.

So much for that anti-tanking rule of the new CBA.

Luis Castillo was still going to lose games allowing two runs anyway.

Don't forget the '81 strike in which the Reds had the best record in baseball(on pace for 99 wins in a 162 game season) and didn't even make the playoffs.

He was the 26th overall pick. Also, Petty is an 18 year old pitcher who was in rookie ball last year. For a pitcher of Gray's caliber who's on a team friendly contract with multiple years remaining on his deal, it's a terrible return.

I think the Expos win that one
The Reds pushed chips in though for the 2020 year and we know what happened. I’m of the opinion they wouldn’t have been that good anyway but it’s still unfortunate.

Reds were a player or 2 from competing with the cards and brewers, not the playoffs.

They're the only other team with a possibly stronger case for sure.
