I went to HS with David and he's a fist class dude. He was a great athlete and very well liked by everyone.

Catholic wont skip a beat. The players will love this guy.

Awesome hire for Catholic.

Last time CHS got a coach from CHPC, it worked out pretty well with Coach Weiner. I hope Simoneaux can keep it going. It seems like a good hire.

I think he’s been there since he left central

Correct, OC @ Central High then to CHSPC as head coach/AD.
They went from a sub .500 school to the state championship in 3 years. and district champs within 2. His latest stud is headed to LSU.

SHAWN

What offense does he like to run?

We've been SO heavy on "Run Power" with Gabe.

One back/Spread?
RPO?

Any insight would help!

THANKS!

He went from running triple option to running a no huddle spread while at Central so I’m sure he’s open to running whatever fits his roster the best. Not exactly sure what he’s been running at CPC.

He has been running the triple option and some RPO with his stud RB/Safety Langois.
He didn't have much choice at CHSPC, he had to be run heavy as talent is limited. What he did with that group in a short time is damned impressive.

ETA: his first couple years at PC, he had a pretty good QB and threw the ball plenty for that level. He's pretty crafty and will play to what talent he has, I'm sure.

Worked for big Weiner.

CHSPC has an impressive coaching tree. Daddy Dale, Hightower, Rob Sale, CoachNW, Vdo, Simeneaux.

It is really impressive some of the coaches to come out of that place, in all the major sports.

He is my cousin and we are very proud of him. I called this the second I heard the spot was open. He is as good a guy as you can ask for and knows how to relate to the kids better than anyone I've ever witnessed (I may be biased). The biggest thing is he cares for each and every kid on his teams like they are his own, and he means it.

agree with this statement... it is not biased

he might be a great coach, but i thought the hire they made was a hire that a Central or East Ascension or someone like that would have made. Catholic should be at least a level above that.

Like when they hired Gabe Fertitta, who had a losing record as a head coach at a small Mississippi high school, to take over after Dale retired?

The bears will continue to roll.

Quality control and assistant OL coach. He’ll work his way up. Can see him as a college OC soon.
