I'm afraid the wood we saw this year is closer to the norm than the one we saw last year. Could be I'm just frustrated at him so I'm overreacting...lets hope it's that.

That's got to be it for Edwin Jackson as a Cube.

My "Edwin Jackson is the worst pitcher in baseball", which I stated 4-5 months ago, is still holding true. At least I can receiver props for that

What's not to like about lasting 2/3 of an inning?

I doubt it, unless we revisit the shitty contract for shitty contract BJ upton deal this off season.

It wouldn't be completely shocked if we non-tendered Wood this off season though.

I fear we'll be stuck wtih Jackson but peripherals wise (and to the eye) wood is just about as bad.

So, is it wrong of me to hope the Cubs sweep the Cards while Pittsburgh simultaneously sweeps the Braves, so that the Pirates might win the division?

Wrong because we should all be hoping the Cubs lose every game in order to improve our draft position, while hoping the kids play well at the same time.

Everyone listen to Theo's presser yesterday and get the warm fuzzies?

Nothing really new, going to go after impact free agents over the next 15 months (so this off season and next) to add to the core.

He still believes in Baez, a lot (rightfully so)

Our goal is to win the NL central next year. And while he did couch it a bit, it wasn't his typical "well you know, good things can happen, we're building for a sustained run...blah blah blah." Said it was time to add externally but continue to develop the farm.

Also said they're going to try to give all their players positional flexabiltiy so you'll see addison russel working at 2b and 3b. If you want to take that for face, that's fair. I read it (because it's what i'd like to happen) as another indication they won't be trading castro.

So there it is. Lets go get lester, maybe upgrade (somehow in the OF) and do this thing.

Oh yea and the bleachers are coming down, then going back up with nice new jumbo tron, LED board and some new signs. Modernizing the old girl. It's about time.

Wrigley renos, offseason stuff, and more importantly...Cubs and Joe Maddon talking contract to manage the Cubs next year and beyond.

Let's keep the Cubs stuff in the Sploosh Emporium...it's a little dry in here as of late, so time for sploosh!

Good...tired of wasting drops in other threads.

Take that left field...I told you that you sucked.

Right field bleachers down too and work started on the triangle property (new locker room/clubhouse/fan pavilion). So far looks to be moving along nicely.

I think it's time (jinxes be damned) for fans to start calling their shot on when Maddon is announced as the cubs manager.

I got Friday at 11 am central.

I get that this isn't really an update but more fodder.

So they told Ricky.
