I'm cautiously optimistic. I know he will most likely struggle. I just hope we can see a AAA-like progression in Chicago as he hopefully adjusts.
I like the timing. He'll most likely struggle, K a lot, hit the occasional jaw dropping home run, then hopefully as he's starting to adjust he'll get to see watered down talent when rosters expand in september which will boost his confidence, works hard over the off season, breaks camp with the cubs, and becomes the high K high home run total guy he's going to be next year.

I already told the wife what my plans are around 7:40.
She didn't get mad or angry or anything. All she said was, "It's beginning, isn't it?"
I think I giggled a little bit when she said that. I'm secure enough in my manhood to admit that.

That's really awesome...my whole thing for this rebuild has been "It's happening!" I think it's funny that your wife gets it.

Baez has struggled each month in each of the minor league levels.
In his first month, Baez has flat out sucked with his slash line and wOBA. By month two in AA and month four in High A and AAA, he has flat out raked. The good news is that the power was always there even when the slash line was low.

Oh, if you guys are interested...MLB.TV Premium is only $25 right now. That may be worth it for 50+ games of possible Cube prospect viewing.

I wish I could cancel mine and they'd just give me 25 bucks back.
I can't think of anything else i pay 100 bucks for just to cause pain

I wonder what the roster move will be today. Junior Lake possibly? I had no idea Chris Rusin was on the MLB roster, either.

Most likely, if for nothing else to save money spent on bats.

I think Chris Coghlan and Justin Ruggiano have made it clear that Junior Lake has a lot of learning to do. Those two should be on the team next year.

Agreed...and I'm not so sure he'll ever learn it. Well let me say that differently. I'm no sure lake (for the position he'll be playing for the cubs, corner OF) will ever balance out enough to be a cog going forward...and right now I question if it will be good enough to even come off the bench. He flashes the skills so hopefully he can capture that and prove me horribly wrong.

He has incredible athleticism, but he needs to get baseball smart in the head.

I was really happy about their signings as well as Bonifacio. We were able to flip Bonifacio and I think Coghlan and Ruggiano should be either our third/fourth or fourth/fifth outfielders in the future.

I don't think the baseball smarts are for Lake.
I think he's in the wrong sport, TBH

I hope baez either K's or Hr's. No seeing eye single. I want to watch the world burn on twitter based on those two outcomes.

Both of those do a great job of overstating what baez actually brings. Well done. This is the type of thing i'm talking about above.
