If Welly reaches base here I think we will see Travis Wood pinch running...

Chapman threw inside to Nate Schierholtz (Not sure if Nate was upset or not. I'm just piecing together the 2 videos I've seen)

he threw two over his head that hit the backstop

quote:

Chapman strikes Nate out and stares at the Cubs dugout and fires Rizzo up.

Junior Lake grounded to 2nd to end the inning. Rizzo was jawing from the time Schierholtz got buzzed two batters earlier. As Chapman walked off the field Chapman flipped his glove toward the Cubs dugout as if to say, "whatever, get outta of here"

quote:

Once the Cubs take the field, Rizzo goes at the Reds dugout. Benches cleared but not punches, nor ejections.

Rizzo was tossing grounders to the infield, and presumably Chapman was saying something to him. In the middle of infield, Rizzo turned and walked to the dugout calling out Chapman. Threw off his glove and hat. Alfredo Simon intercepted him to hold Rizzo back and that was pretty much the end of it

Phillips and Molina, the guys that fought each other, go down with essentially the same injury on the same day. Yikes.

It was Latos, apparently.

Damn Alcantara! Not that y'all need extra reason to be a fan of his but he's one of the nicest guys I've ever been around. I'm not sure if I've ever seen him without a smile on his face.

Alcantara is looking good.

Are there still any talks of trading Darwin Barney? I remember hearing rumors around the beginning of the season about him possibly being traded to the Yankees.

The fricken Reds might as well had called up their AAA team to play today.

What a good day. Cubs win, Rizzo an allstar, 'Mendy staying up for a little while longer, and now the landmarks commission passes the cubs renovation/bleacher/sign plan. It's enough to make me not care that I'm responding to myself repeatedly in this thread.

I count that as a winning streak. 1 win over the reds, 1 win over the rooftops and 1 win over allstar voting. going streaking.
