Report: Mario Lemieux may want Bylsma out
quote:
Dan Bylsma’s future in Pittsburgh is in question after his team was swept by the Boston Bruins in the Eastern Conference finals.
Larry Brooks of the New York Post says Penguins owner Mario Lemieux could force GM Ray Shero’s hand into forcing out Bylsma.
Several individuals within the industry have told Slap Shots Penguins chairman Mario Lemieux, distressed by his team’s fourth straight failure to get out of the Eastern Conference after consecutive trips to the Finals in 2008 and 2009, the latter culminating with a Stanley Cup victory, may instruct Shero to dismiss the coach.
Keep in mind, however, that Bylsma has one year left on his contract with the Pens. If the team feels a change could be needed eventually, doing so this summer wouldn’t be out of the question.

You guys should look to shop Malkin, too....

Highly unlikely.
Malkin will sign long term, and they'll backload the contract with the cap projecting to be near 80 million come 2018.
You can have Letang though, not a chance in hell we're giving him 7 million or even 6.

Penguins goalie coach to resign, likely to be replaced by WBS goalie coach, high praise from Guerrin.
Fleury may not return, 2 years left on contract at 5 million each, may try and trade him. Sup Luongo?

The : lol : was sarcasm jackass.
Would have to send Maata, and Pouliot along with Fleury for Luongo, they want way too much and I wouldn't do that at all anyways.
Guerin likely to get interview for coaching job if/when Bylsma is let go.

According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review's Rob Rossi, Shero and J.P. Barry (Malkin's agent) intend to open contract talks this week, with both sides keen to reach an agreement soon. Malkin also has a no-movement clause in his current contract, which kicks in next season.
Ownership has instructed Shero to re-sign Malkin, the cost of which could reach the league maximum of eight years and $102.88 million, for an annual cap hit of $12.86 million.
Malkin accepted a “hometown discount” when he signed his current deal in July 2008 at an annual cap hit identical to Crosby's $8.7 million. It's possible he’ll do it again.

Yeah that's not happening he's gonna max y'all out

Probably take a bit less than max, 11ish.
Point is, locking him up regardless.

Malkin wants to sign a long term deal and leave the pens enough salary cap space to maintain a Stanley Cup contending roster

I think I'm finally able to watch some hockey again for a full game.
My wounds are healed.

Penguins sign an extension with Bylsma, back Andre-Fleury.

MSB is slipping when the Caps are out of it. Puck about to drop.

Too bitter to watch it probably.
Will turn it on if tied in the 3rd if Cards game is over.

We're getting severe weather tonight so they're showing the Cup in a split screen with no game audio.
