No it didn't..you can't just assume the Wings score there in the end after pulling the goalie.
I hate this logic. The goal was insurance but the Hawks owned the third period.
Maybe the Wings should start playing better in the final period..

Handzus was basically by himself when he scored 51 seconds into the third against a helpless Howard. Then, Bickell wouldn't let Detroit defenseman Brendan Smith move him away from Howard before he scored, leading to Howard taking Smith's stick and throwing it into the corner.

all im saying is that i really miss last years playoff run. being down 0-2 and then going to a game 7 in the next series is taking years off of my life

Under the new rule, it is a penalty shot. Still, I think it should have been a 2 minute minor at best. Really, pretty sure that was the first penalty shot the Hawks have been awarded all season.
I agree it didn't matter, though. Chicago won. If Smith can get the stick out Howard stuck up his rear end after the game, maybe he can skate Wednesday. If you want to lay blame, start with Smith.
And, if you want to cry about penalties, the Red Wings should have probably been in the box just about the entire time for the whole series for the cheap shots they've been putting on Toews. Have you seen the isolated replays? Don't know how the refs are letting this go on, but you have to hand it to the Wings' hit men, they are smart about when they cheat.
