Ok, we are obviously at an impasse here. Everyone outside of OSU is going to say booster because they want a juicy story/cheeseburger.

Personally, I don't think boosters get paid back, but I never had one sadly in my OSU career

He didn't know the guy until right before he started at OSU.

Clearly a booster dude.

Agreed, all the signs point to that.

But I'd say, hypothetically, if this was a booster, why in the world would Chase Young make that tweet he just made? Seemed like it wasn't just an off the cuff tweet and one that was concocted by him and whoever his team around him may be. I can't figure out the good in making the tweet.

mean that's not what he said at all. He said he got a loan last year from someone he knew prior to ever playing college football

He said he met the family friend the summer before his freshman year. I doubt that's any coincidence.

That being said, if he paid off the loan in full, he should he fine.

So on top of thinking this was over a cheeseburger, we can add that you don't understand how jokes/sarcasm work.

Not a great showing for you in here, this is getting awkward.

Can NCAA athletes even get loans from banks? I’m guessing no?

Yea IMO as a lawyer (and obvious OSU fan), you don't tweet that out if it's a booster/agent or something really serious. I'm sure he was following advice to make that tweet.

Maybe it blows up in his face, but for him to "admit" something like that now sounds like it's minor

I agree.

The dozen or so others do, though.

Well, a few of us are a bit more emotionally involved than the others.

I'm sure it can be proven that he was actually paid back. I'm sure someone giving out a loan was smart enough to keep a paper trail.

Once it's proven Young will be in the clear.

Unless, of course, this is a known tOSU booster because if that's the case then Young is fricked.

Depends on who the "family friend" is.

If it's a booster, i'm not so sure he'll just be fine and this will be over with so quickly.

Welp, that blows up my previous post.

i still find that hard to believe if the loan was from a booster, no?

I'm curious how many "family friends" have yall met JUST before going to college. I bet he was a friend to the family. I'd be a friend to anyone paying me to go to their college

Completely agree. It depends how they determine if its a booster/agent vs a family friend.

I don't see why not.

The issue typically arises when they get something that isn't available to regular students.

Exactly lol. Come on man. Dude is pissing on your head and telling you it’s raining.

“A family friend that I met the summer before my freshman year” - so an OSU booster that you met during summer workouts? Was he an early enrollee? Would be even more dumb of a statement.

Agreed. I just think he doesn't say that if he doesn't have that paper trail. Dumb to do
