Is that just Austin proper or include like Pflugerville, West Lake, etc?

If you really think about it from Plano/Prosper to Waco and Austin to San Antonio is 2 cities now.

You're looking at it wrong. Need to look at metro size... Austin area is 31.

You do not look at metro to decide what is the largest CITY....

Actually you do need to look at the metro. So people on the West Bank/Algiers technically aren't in NOLA but they consider themselves from NOLA.

You guys do realize that virtually all seats belong to season ticket holders? It means that about 3/4 of season ticket holders attended. Obviously, some put up their tickets up for sale and it did not sell, but I would safely bet that most of those open seats were owned and unused cause it is the preseason.

Sure, but it speaks to the lack of interest. 21K for the first game? Sure, it wasn't 90k like the Rams last year but that's a very small number

For the purpose of getting a sports team, yes you do. If you disagree with that then I can't help you.

I understand.

So, by using metro, Austin is the largest metro without a single major pro team.......

With 13 smaller metros having a team.....

Austin has grown tremendously over the last 10 years overtaking some of the rust belt areas. Even so, I just don't see a need for a new pro team going there.

I think you are wrong there Peej. They would support it, as it will easier for them to get Austin Whatever tickets than Cowboys tickets.

Basketball they will never get due to the Spurs. Baseball they can support also, but it would require Rangers to relocate the Rough Riders or the Express most likely and they don't want to do that.

Did Jones try to block Houston from getting the Texans? Wouldn't the Chargers be better off playing in the Rose Bowl for the next 3 years?

Baltimore & DC are almost on top of each other. It takes less time (in ideal traffic) to drive from Camden Yards to Nationals Park than it does to drive from Slidell to Tiger Stadium.
