king, amazingly i agree with you, that was not a red. at all. (and why you gotta bring xabi into this).
that was an amazing game. sucks that i couldn't watch it live. and i can't believe pep took ibra out. i think he's an amazing coach but sometimes he does stuff that is so wtf?!
hope next week is just as exciting. can't believe cesc possibly broke his leg, that sucks so bad!

I thought Pedro was very unimpressive in that match.

Has Bojan been playing at all?

You might want to check out the replay again. Try to catch a Skysports replay and listen to the commentator...he even says that it's more of Cesc kicking Puyol, which it is. His legs get caught up in Puyol's.

I watched the replay plenty of times before I made my opinion and it's still stands. Your problem is listening to SkySports' commentary. How about you watch it again.

The Incident

Bendtner heads it to Fab who is unmarked, Fab begins the kicking motion, Puyol comes from behind Fabregas , his leg impedes Fabregas's kicking motion (and also breaks his fibula apparently), easy PK call. It was extremely unfortunate. Puyol didn't mean to foul him, but it's a foul. It's not as if Cesc was kicking Puyol on purpose. Watch the replay, his eyes are forward the entire time as Puyol come in front behind and beside him. Their legs get caught up like legs or bodies get caught up on any obstruction call in football. That doesn't mean it isn't a foul. Fab had a goal scoring opportunity, Puyol running it to defend, got his leg in front of Fab's, which had already begun a shooting motion, easy obstruction call, easy PK. Less easy on the red card, but he clearly denied a goal scoring opportunity. I didn't see Xabi Alonso's so I can't comment. Did his hand ball come on a shot?

I've only watched a few games on SkySports and only seen their post-game commentary once or twice but it seemed rather have a rather negative slant towards Arsenal. Since, I've heard it from others so it reinforced my opinion. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day...You're a Manc though so you probably wouldn't notice, or care about something like that though

Damn. Just watched the replay. Great game. Won't comment on anything particular b/c it's probably all been said, but does anyone have an update on Cesc's injury?

Cesc out for at least 6 weeks. Technically would be back in time for the WC, but we'll see if del Bosque takes a chance on him since he won't be able to play any games before the WC...For his sake I hope he gets selected. Guy literally sacrificed himself last night.

I don't think thay'll happen anytime soon so no. Anyway, catalunya already have a "national team" and you see which team all the Catalonians like Xavi, Puyol, and iniesta play for. Hint hint...it ain't Catalunya. they know where their bread is buttered

yeah, but didn't they play in the argentina freindly. at least pique? and it seems to me that this spainish team has managed much better with the basque v spain problem that previous teams have had. there doesn't seem to be that friction.

so cesc is supposedly going to be fit for the world cup. hope to hell he makes the squad

Cracked right fibula.

Rolling the dice putting him on the WC squad. I think you have to though. I hate Arsenal but Cesc has impressed the shite out of me this year. I'm pulling for him big time to get in shape for the WC. It would be such a shame for a player of his caliber to not get the spot light he deserves on the biggest stage in the prime of his career.

Good luck Cesc.

well frick, Cesc is officially done and Arshavin is out for up to 3 weeks. we're at the tipping point of seeing trophy hopes go over the ledge. I'll reserve a resolved judgment until after this weekend to see what we look like vs. Wolves

oh well, at least there's the world cup to look forward to.

Still trying to figure out how he hurt himself.

ETA: Nevermind just read it was on the contact with Puyol was is what I figured but pretty surprising he took the PK with that kind of injury.
