CFB is a game that is played on Saturdays. From September all the way to December on championship Saturday.

Then the CFP decides to have the games on New Year’s Day no matter what day of the week this falls on.

Wouldn’t it make sense for fans traveling and fans in general to get to watch their team compete in the CFP semifinals and championship game on a SATURDAY? Like wouldn’t THIS Saturday make sense?

The first game at 2:30 then the next game at 7:00.
Then the championship game on the following Saturday at 7:00? This Monday night 8:00 PM then Monday night again at 7:00 is asinine.

College Football on New Years Day has been a tradition for decades. This isn’t anything new

With just 30 seconds of research you could figure out that this isn't true at all. They've had playoff games on Saturdays in the past (literally last year). They like to have them on Saturdays, Mondays, and sometimes Fridays. Mondays are great for TV ratings, especially if it is a day that many people have off of work.

I just hate how the championship game is on a Monday. Absolutely insane.

I'm fine with NYD, but the championship game 7 days later this year is kind of ridiculous. The winners will be spent after the semis and have to fly back home, then back out to Houston a couple of days later. Not much time to prep and get rest. The championship game should be on the 11th.

Don't get me started on Dec 20/21 first round games next year...

The problem with this season is that the Rose Bowl insists that the Rose Bowl must be played on New Year’s Day. So in years where the Rose Bowl is a playoff game, the playoff games occur on New Year’s Day. In the other years, they have played it on December 30th or New Year’s Eve. I don’t care for this setup as many people will be going back to work on Tuesday, January 2nd.

I hate that the national championship is on a Monday night. I know all of the reasons that are given for why they do it this way, but I still hate it. Somehow Saturday/Saturday night is fine for all of the other big college football games during the season, but then in the postseason Saturday is suddenly unsuitable.

People are really going to be bitching next year when the semis are on Thursday and Friday. Just about impossible to work around the NFL schedule and have a Saturday game in primetime.

I wish they would play the championship game either the Saturday of Pro Bowl week or the Saturday night before the AFC/NFC championships, but that's pushing the end of the season into February.

So like a normal schedule of back to back road games?

And they haven't played a game in a month. They will be fine playing 2 games in 7-8 days

I love watching bowl games on New Years Day - Besides my team, I don't watch bowl games until NYE and NY Day

Kind of nice to have an extra day off when you stay up late watching the game.
